Won't make a difference at all . . .

See, A Smoking Gun in the Kagen case. It isn't about the issue. It's about honesty. There's the old test beloved by trial attorneys -- if the witness lies about something, how can you believe anything else they say because they could be lying again. If she says she will judge "impartially and modestly, " well, maybe she has her fingers crossed.

On the other hand, I doubt if this will make any difference. This hearing is just another show for the rubes.

Oh, and banning books is okay, too.

Married to the Congressional Mob.

You guys have an overwhelming majority in both the House and Senate, and the White House, and you can't, or won't, pass the budget? You know. One of your most important constitutional obligations? Gah! It's bad enough that you can't stick to a budget when you pass it. But what the hell? You don't even have a budget? If we were married, I'd cut up the credit cards. If we were married, I'd want a divorce. You have been taking me and my vote for granted for too long. I want out.
